Curriculum vitae

                 Background
I was a self-taught painter whom Francine Labelle destabilized with her drawing and painting classes from 1989 to 1993. She seduced me with her teaching style so open and rigorous in pleasure of learning.  I have showed at the Contemporary Art Centre Belgo as a solo artist and as a couple in 1998, 1996 and 1995. I participate in all of the activities of Francine Labelle’s studio with whom I have exposed, taught and lived since 1992. I have a permanent exhibition at the Magenta Blues Gallery.
I am a Colourist, at times abstract, at times figurative. I have painted since childhood. I seek the pleasure found in the form’s control but it is colour that structures my work. It leads me in my conscious dreams and meditations from which the emotion erupts, pushing me further in my painting.
I paint starting directly with my paintbrushes and using vivid colours that stimulate me, stepping over my reservations, in an order made coherent by the dream’s path. Slowly time stills, the colours inflect, forms emerge and a painting begins, rooted in reality.
I see the world through the havens of beauty, speaking to me in the silence of tediousnes
